A/B testing is a method used to compare two versions of a webpage to determine which performs better. Typically, 50% of the traffic is directed to the original page and 50% to the variation. This technique is useful for various purposes, such as:

  • Comparing the performance of a new landing page against the original.
  • Testing different placements for call-to-action buttons to see which one generates more clicks.
  • Evaluating other elements of your webpage to optimize user engagement.

Follow the steps below to configure A/B testing for a link:

1. From the main dashboard, click the Edit button for the link you wish to configure A/B testing on.

2. Click on the A/B Testing modal to expand the configuration options.

3. In the Original Page field, the original URL will be pre-filled, and it cannot be edited. In the Variation Page field, enter the URL of the page you wish to test against.

4. Click Update to save your configuration.

Once set up, requests to the short URL will be split evenly (50:50) between the original and variation pages.
